Assessment of YouthBuild

button2_espanolThe Research and Evaluation Center provided research expertise and support to YouthBuild USA as part of a quality assessment process for two of its programmatic initiatives: 1) the National Mentoring Initiative, funded by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) in the U.S. Department of Justice, and 2) a collaboration between YouthBuild and AmeriCorps  to provide enhanced services and support in some YouthBuild sites, funded by the U.S. Department of Labor.

The Center supported YouthBuild in the design and implementation of data collection procedures for both quality assessment efforts, primarily the use of self-administered questionnaires that were completed by student/participants at multiple points during each student’s YouthBuild experience. The survey results were used by YouthBuild to ascertain client satisfaction with each program component and the extent to which they achieve desired outcomes.
