Butts, Jeffrey A. (2011). Presentation to the 1st National Summit on Youth Violence Prevention, April 2011. Washington, DC: U.S. Department of Justice. Researchers at John Jay College and Temple University designed an online survey to assess the progress of the National Forum on Youth Violence Prevention in six cities: Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Memphis, Salinas, and San Jose. Based upon the early results presented here, the efforts of the cities seem to be well received. Even those respondents not deeply involved in the National Forum reported improvements in their city’s approach to violence prevention during the past year.
